Library: The Knowledge Centre

In the digital information era Library plays an important role in the life of a modern organization/Institution and life of a Nation. In modern time library is a centre of knowledge and Information. College has fully furnished and well established computerized Libraries which are handled by qualified and experienced Librarian. It is really a place of individual study and research and maintains a reader friendly inviting atmosphere with dignity & peace.

Presently, the Library occupies covered area of 900 sq.m. having capacity of 400 users at a time. To provide full information support to teaching- learning process, the Library has a rich collection of books, and 400 CDs of different books and Magazines. The Library subscribes 146 titles of International and National Journals - including the access to 50 e-journals. It also stacks about 50 back volumes of important journals and magazines. College Library also has a Digital Library section with 10 P IV computers, 400 DVD/CD/floppies books and periodicals. It also provided accesses to internet and e-resources to the students and faculty members.

To facilitate efficient and effective searching of information through the various online databases and union catalogue, the College Library has taken membership of Developing Library Network (DELNET), New Delhi. The DELNET provides the delivery of individual books as and when required by Member-Libraries and photocopies of journal articles that are published in India. The DELNET provides also foreign journals through the InterLibrary loan with Loan/Document Delivery Services.

By these facilities user can access thousands of Books and journals and magazines. Following online Databases are Accessible-Union Catalogue of Books-Union Catalogue of Periodicals- Union List of Periodicals-Articles Databases-Thesis and Dissertations Databases .The library also provides NPTEL (National Program of Technology Enhanced Learning: A joint Venture of IITs and IISc) web contents (Video) access facilities to the students of the college.

To promote reading habits among the students the library is following an open access system that enables students to walk amidst books, browse under guidance and handle books freely.The Library undertakes reproduction of materials available in its collection for research, (study and private only). The College Library has also provided Book-Bank Facility. In this scheme four books are provided to students till the end of the semester examination.
