Co-curricular Activities
"There is no substitute of Experience"
Co-curricular activities make learning an experience. One needs to put the academic
knowledge into action. To provide this opportunity to have on hand training, we
organize a lot many of co curricular activities at Rajdhani Campus, which supports
the budding technocrats, to increase the level of retention & take home. For this
a sequence of activities, at regular intervals is being organized, throughout the
year at Rajdhani Campus.
Faculty Development Programmes:
Institute not only takes care of the academic development of students but also organizes
faculty development programs on a regular basis to keep the faculty up to date in
the developments of various fields. The Rajdhani Campus is organising FDP and training
programs since its inception. AICTE Sponsored Winter school on “Advanced Digital
Signal Processing & Applications” was organized by National Institute
of Technical Teacher’s Training & Research(NITTTR), Chandigarh at Rajdhani Campus.
A four days faculty development programme was conducted by renowned
Corporate Trainer Mr. Anil Kothari, Excel Graduate (JCI University, Florida, USA)
Extra Mural Lectures
The lectures by masters of the subject (guest speakers)really adds a lot to the
depth of the knowledge.
Students are encouraged for participation in seminars & other events of the kind
by different organizations.
Institute invites various eminent professionals to give expertise talks for the
students. Mr. Satendra Kumar, Director, Barclays Capital, USA delivered his lecture
on IT in Finance and Mr. Mahesh Sisodia, Director of Application
Services, Information Technology, Peoples United Bank, Connecticut, U.S.A. on
“Bites & Bytes”
The College organized Celebration of The Engineer’s Day on September
15, 2010 in the memory of distinguished stalwarts of engineering profession Late
Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visversvaraya, the doyen of Indian engineering. This
was presided over by Shri V.K. Sharma, Mechanical Engineer and Ex-General Manager,
Indian Ordnance Factory, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. He highlighted the
key activities of Sir Visvesvaraya in engineering development of the nation with
selfless dedication and commitment. Sir Visvesvaraya’s broad vision was to search
the technology for proper utilization of the natural resources to convert into useful
services and product to benefit mankind. Sir Visvesaraya transferred his technical
education in the pre and post-independence era by the creation for a thrust in engineering
for progress and prosperity.
Dr. A. N. Arora, Professor & Head Department of Civil Engg. Kautiliya College of
Engineering Ex-Executive Engineer PWD Govt. of Rajasthan end delivered technical
talk on “Aspects of Civil Engineering Course - Present and Future”
on September 24, 2010. He elaborated in detail the scope of Civil Engineering Course
especially to looking to the present need of the nation. He also appraised the students
about the Government planning in development of infrastructure facilities in urban
and rural areas, irrigation and water resources, rail & road network requirement.
Civil Engineer play a major role in constructional work. We had a 3 days workshop
on TePP (Technopreneur promotion program). A five days Training
program was taken by eminent scholar & Prof. Dr. S.C. Bhaduri on Engineering
Competencies. A Seminar on Career Opportunities was
organised, looking on to the challenges of this competitive era to shape up our
career is a real hilarious task. MR. Dilip Tiwari conducted it to guide us on to
this important & tough endeavour, for the students of 6th semester of our institute,
Students of all the streams of engineering attended this & took optimum advantage.
Summer Internship
On project training & working gives them a chance to put their technical skills
into reality. It provides students a chance to have first hand information & helps
relate the conceptual & analytical skills acquired in the class room to actual practices.
Our students had been selected for summer training in many reputed corporate industries
like :- GHCL, Junagadh, BBI, Vadodara, RRVPNL, Heerapura, KEYS Hotels, Bangalore,
DPTL, Ranoli, SUZLON, Pune, ADANI POWER LTD. Bokadev, SUMUL, Surat etc.
Industry Institute Interaction & Science Exhibition Visit:
In Industrial visits interaction with different departmental heads of the industry
give them an exposure of the corporate world & on floor hardships, the academia
industry interface is very useful to corporate also because many a time’s innovative
& creative solutions emerge to the benefit of the industry. It is mandatory for
every student to be a part of these visits.
Students of Ist Year B. Tech. of all disciplines were taken to visit the PVC pipes
and fittings manufacturing industry M/S G.G. Polyplast Pvt. Ltd. Phase III, Sitapura
Industrial Area, Jaipur on November 15, 16 and 17, 2010. Students were first explained
in detail about the organization. The students were taken to the shop floor. Students
visited the various types of manufacturing machines, the raw material, the process
and the various products of the factory.
Students also visited the Science Exhibition organized by National Council of Educational
Research and Training (NCERT) Poddar School, Gandinagar, Jaipur on 29th & 30th November,
2010. Students observed the different working models prepared and presented by the
science students of various state of the country.
Educational excursions:
Educational excursions prepare them to have an insight view of their capabilities
and internships increase their core skills with problem solving capacity to make
them competent professionals. An industrial visit & an educational excursion for
the students of 6th semester of our institute were initiated. Students of all the
streams of engineering are to be a part of this educational excursion, because visit
in varied technological, industrial units. Dabur Industries at
Baddi. Promed (pharmaceutical) Industries at Baddi, TVS Motors,
at Baddi, HMT Tractors, Chandigarh, Puncom (telecom)
Mohali, Chandigarh, Amartex (textile) Mohali, Chandigarh, C-Dec
(I.T.) Mohali, Chandigarh, Infosys, Chandigarh & Hydel
power project at Bhakhra nangal dam.
Campus Connect :
We are trying to get attached to the Campus Connect Program of Infosys very soon.
So as to provide our students with the real time work-ex. By getting this they would
be better equipped for the absorption of the industry & become industry-ready-professionals
instantly.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
“NOBODY KNOWS HOW MUCH YOU KNOW, BUT EVERYBODY KNOWS HOW MUCH YOU PERFORM”
Extra curricular activities play a major role in making student educated & complete professional, instead of the only literate and degree holder. We need to transform them from school going child to responsible and lively person, an all rounder.
These actvities at Rajdhani campus make the students a person of performance & action, with positive attitude & self motivated aptitude. A compassionate, thorough gentlemen. A fit, fine & well behaved individual, a good communicator, a well organized and a well managed persona. A true team player and a leader in making. A confident harnesser of time. An instant stress buster not only for himself but also for the whole arena of techies around him.
Soft Skills Development:
The soft skills plays a significant role in increasing effective communication and inter personal skills. These trainings provide students practical orientation. Regular workshops & mentoring programs are the integral part of the ongoing enhancement schedules.
Club Activities:
The students are enrolled to different clubs as soon as they join RITM, according to their zeal and preferences. A variety of vibrant and edutainment clubs are open to students, such as Performing Arts Club (music, dance & drama), Photography Club (with a dedicated digital camera from RITM), Green Treasure Club (medicinal herbs farming & gardening etc.), Mind Teaser Club (quizzes, puzzles & riddles etc.), Innocrat Club (creative arts as poetry, art & craft & innovative projects, robotics etc.), Expression Club (debate, declamation, deliberation and G.D. etc.) and Right Hand Club (writers, press notes, paper preparation & presentation etc.). These clubs are autonomous bodies by students, to students for students, under the guidance of tutor guardians.
