The Department has grown tremendously over the years and is now recognized as most sought-after branch in Rajdhani Campus. The department has developed strong links with the building and construction industry and academic and research, both with in and outside the country. Besides high quality teaching and instruction, the Department is actively involved in basic and applied research and consultancy and provides high quality technical advisory support through various R&D projects and consultancy to various organizations. The Department of Civil Engineering with its multifaceted faculty continues to maintain and cultivate its strong links with the infrastructural industry and academic and research institutions both within and outside the country.

The activities of the department are carried out in five different divisions as following:

  • Building Technology and Construction Management (BTCM)
  • Environmental and Water Resources Engineering (EWRE)
  • Geotechnical Engineering (GT)
  • Structural Engineering (ST)
  • Transportation Engineering (TR)

The Department is highly active in promoting industry visits and survey camps for its students. These visits and camps are immensely beneficial for the students to understand the current needs of the industry and to give them practical knowledge.

The department has advance labs for practical knowledge:

  • Civil Engineering Material & Geology Lab
  • Building Planning & Design Lab
  • Environmental Engg. Lab
  • Structure Design Lab
  • Fluid Mechanics Lab
  • Material Testing Lab
  • Structural Engg. Lab
